UK store retailer wants to re-platform for growth

TJ Hughes

The problem and opportunity

TJ Hughes is a £260m retailer with 50 UK stores.  The internet had doubled revenues within the last 12 months, via their national advertising campaign, but they needed a more robust web infrastructure to support future growth.

Our approach

Recognising their critical timescales, we quickly established a project to deliver their requirements, with a parallel stream of work to decide what initiatives they should adopt to deliver future growth.

Our solution

Firstly we implemented the strong e-commerce project management discipline that was needed.  Crucially we provided expertise and guidance in critical areas such as web design and content management through to post go live management.

Results

We delivered the project to specification and on time on June 9th 2009.   Growth in site sales is increasingly outstrippping visitor growth.  Now helping to understand customer behaviour and web metrics so as to help planning for future growth.

Testimonials

Alan Rawstron.  Head of IT

“To say they are consultants underplays them.  They become an expert part of your team”

Sue Tennant.  CEO

“We could not have done this critical project without the discipline and expert knowledge of transaction.”

David Williams. Finance & IT Director.

“We have them to thank for delivering the project to brief and with a strong commercial focus.”
